Culex pipiens larvae have pecten
spines on the basal third of the siphon and
about 4 pairs of siphonal hair tufts, with one tuft out of line.

The antennae of Culex pipiens
are very long, much like Culex tarsalis.

Also, the antennae are constricted,
and have seta at about the middle to apical third of the antennae.
