Culex tarsalis larvae have long antennae,
with seta attached near middle of antennae.

It can also be seen that the antennae
are constricted at the apical third.

Tarsalis also have setae on their siphon
all in a straight line, with about 5-9 pairs of setae.

The saddle on segment
X of Culex tarsalis larvae completely encircles the segment.
