Review Worksheets- Review worksheets are available to assist students in studying for all four exams.  They can be accessed by selecting  "worksheets" in the frame to the left.

Copies of "Old" Exams- The first 3 exams for 2007 and 2008 are available to assist students in studying for the first 3 exams.  They can be accessed by selecting the "old exam" choice in the frame to the left.

GRADING:
Students will be evaluated primarily on the basis of four lecture and four laboratory exams.  Additional points will come from completion of a microscope slide collection and occasional laboratory exercises.  Final grades will be determined on the basis of cumulative point totals.

Drop Date
If you choose to drop this course, please complete the departmental drop form and bring it to class.  Have the instructor sign the form and return it to the Registrar's Office.

Attendance Policy
No points are assigned for attendance to the various General Parasitology lectures and labs; however, students must attend take the lecture and lab exams during their assigned time slots unless permission is given by the instructor to take them during another time slot.

Students with Diabilities
Students with disabilities should alert the University that they have a disability so that necessary adaptation can be provided.

Bonus Points
The only opportunities for bonus points are those projects listed below.  A student can only receive bonus points for one project, and all bonus projects are due during the last lecture period.

1) "Parasites in Your Back Yard" = Maximum of 30 points

2) Additional Mounted, Slide Collection Material (for parasites collected and prepared beyond those provided in class) = Maximum of 20 points

3) Publication-quality drawing of whole-mount morphology of the trematodes Ochetosoma sp. = Maximum of 20 points

• Objective: Prepare a properly-labeled publication-quality drawing of the Ochetosoma trematode found in your slide box.  The drawing must be at least 15cm in length and stippled appropriately. Your instructor has several examples that will help with this assignment.

• Objective: Compose an original humorous cartoon, poem, or song involving a parasite or parasitological concept.  The number of points will be determine more on originality of idea than the quality of the drawing or voice.
