Risk Assessment for West Nile Virus (WNV) Transmission:
Oak Lake Field Station versus

Data will be presented to support the theory that the
average risk for transmission of WNV for any given year should be higher in the
South Dakota State Fairgrounds than at the Oak Lake Field Station. This
assessment will be based primarily upon the populations of adult female
mosquitoes trapped in and around these two locations. WNV infection rates
among various populations of mosquitoes from the two regions will also be
