Independent study in specialized area of the botanical sciences. Objectives, scope of work and plan of study specified by instructor and student(s).

Placement in Curriculum: Bot 492, and courses similar to it, have been extremely important in the development of critical thinking and problem solving skills in undergraduate students. Independent study experience exposes students to the processes of science and development of technical skills that are difficult to duplicate in any other instructional format. The availability of such experiences for motivated students sets SDSU apart from other public higher education programs.
