I appreciate all the time and effort the professors took to help me understand and to work with me. The technology in the classrooms also better prepared me for presentations and the changing world of computers. The Bio/Micro Department made me feel welcomed and teachers made me feel like I was somebody instead of a number. I feel the background I received at SDSU prepared me well to succeed in the job market. I use many of the biological and microbiological basics every day in my current position. My overall educational experience was excellent. It led me to graduate school and a good job. My degree in Environmental Management has allowed me to obtain a job that I enjoy. I will be able to move higher in the water field. I'm so glad I returned to SDSU and completed my degree.

Flexible Curriculum Our curriculum provides a rigorous
set of core
courses that will prepare students for graduate school or an entry-level
position in a professional field. A large selection of elective
courses provides flexibility for students to study along different
tracks. We don't create clones! Students work one-on-one with
our faculty advisors to design a track of courses which best meets the
needs of each student.
Practical Experience We understand the value of practical experience. Our Students are strongly encouraged to gain that experience working with faculty on their research projects or through summer internships. Listed below are agencies providing those experiences:
The Environmental Management Major is administered through the Department of Biology & Microbiology at South Dakota State University. For additional information, contact the department's business office (605-688-6141). The SDSU Admissions web page contains additional information for new students. |
