Description:  This research associate position offers an opportunity for participation in a broad array of research projects focusing on infectious diseases, and/or vaccine/drug delivery.  The successful candidate will assist investigators and their graduate students with various research projects involving biological imaging techniques and equipment.  These techniques will include (but not limited to) confocal microscopy, electron microscopy, microscopy image analysis and gel image analysis.   The successful candidate is expected to manage a multi-use bioimaging lab along with maintaining the equipment.  In addition, this person will also provide training on the use of this equipment and technical expertise involving preparatory bioimaging techniques and image analysis.  Other laboratory duties may be required.   Opportunities for conducting independent research within the scope of the research center will be made available. 

Qualifications:  An M.S. in the biological sciences or related field.  Candidates whose previous research has been published in international scientific journals will be given preference.  Preference will also be given to candidates who have documented experience in confocal microscopy and image analysis, and/or previous experience in managing a multi-use laboratory.   The successful candidate must also evidence ability to communicate and interact effectively with research colleagues, students, and the public.
