Molecular Biology Research Associate Position Announcement:

Salary/Benefits:  $32,000-$36,000/year plus fringe benefits

Description:  This research associate position offers an opportunity for participation in research projects focusing on several infectious diseases in an active research laboratory and to perform molecular diagnostic analysis on veterinary diagnostic specimens.  The work will include preparing and expressing recombinant genes, performing molecular detection tests, including PCR, assisting in the technical training of graduate students, and conducting various experiments or tests under the general supervision of the laboratory’s principal investigator.  Opportunities for conducting independent research within the scope of the investigator’s research foci will be made available. 

Qualifications:  An M.S. in molecular biology or a related field.  Candidates whose previous research has been published in international scientific journals will be given preference.  Preference will also be given to candidates who have documented experience working with infectious diseases. The successful candidate must also evidence ability to communicate and interact effectively with research colleagues, students, and the public.
